Camping Permits for Undesignated Areas on Forest Land

Primitive camping on undesignated areas is allowed on the Burnett County Forest with the purchase of a permit. One permit may cover a maximum of 3 shelters with a maximum of 10 people per permit. Camping is not permitted on shorelines or within 50 feet of the ordinary high-water mark of any stream, river, or lake on the forest.

Please be respectful of other campers keeping a minimum of 1/4 mile between your party and another valid camping permit holder.

A camping permit is required and may either be obtained online, or by coming into or calling the Forest and Parks Department. Permits may be purchased at any time during the calendar year of the intended use dates.
