Public and Vehicle Access
Many of the logging roads, trails, and fire lanes are open to the public and allow vehicle access to county-owned lands. Seasons of the year and soil moisture conditions are the main factors that determine when these trails can be used.
Restricted Areas
In some locations, vehicle use on roads will be restricted with a gate, earthen berm, or barrier posts. Vehicle use beyond these barriers is not permitted. Foot access is welcome here, but vehicle use is restricted to control erosion and provide areas where non-motorized recreation can occur.
Road Maintenance
Some of these roads receive yearly maintenance, seasonal maintenance, or are not maintained at all. Vehicles must be operated on all trails in a manner that does not damage the road surface or the natural features of the land. Use of vehicles away from trails without permission is not allowed.
